Ann Cutner has more than thirty years of experience managing the quality design and service provided by ima for some of the most prominent names in the development industry. Over the course of her career, she has successfully implemented large scale installations for all types of development including: Multifamily Housing, 55+ Communities, Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC), Entertainment Projects, Destination Resort, and more. Her innate ability to understand and define the critical issues of projects, combined with her highly developed skills in bringing the design and implementation team into focus on those issues has consistently resulted in successful projects with acclaim from clients.

She is currently leading ima’s Northern California office and the design on projects in Rohnert Park, Emeryville, Redwood City, and Pleasanton.

She has demonstrated leadership as a founding Board Member of the Orange County Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a founding Executive Committee Member for the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Sustainable Communities Initiative Council for Orange County and the Inland Empire; and by teaching the next generation of leaders in sustainability at the University of California, Irvine Extension in a course called Sustainable Sites: A Collaborative Approach. She has served on the Landscape Architecture Advisory Council (LADAC) at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Currently, she is a Building Industry Association (BIA) 55+ Board Member and participating as a mentor in ULI Mentorship Program for Young Leaders.

Cutner holds a B.S. of Landscape Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and she studied at Denmark’s International Study Program in Architecture and Design at the University of Copenhagen. She is a licensed Landscape Architect in California, Arizona, and Hawaii, and is a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional.
